Humans have improved their way of living a lot over the past few years. For the environment this is both a good and bad thing. In the temperate deciduous forest humans have affected this biome negatively and positively. For the damage that humans have caused we are also trying to reverse what has been done. People are planting trees to make up for deforestation. Also industrial plants that cause pollution are starting to be cleaned up by cleaning the pipes. Something positive humans have started doing is using wind for power and this cuts back on burning fuel that causes air pollution that destroys trees, animals, and poisons the soil.

Humans can deliberatively alter the equilibrium in my biome by cutting down trees. We know deforestation is bad, and we know what it does to the environment yet we do it anyway. Along with driving cars, it gives off a lot of pollution yet we drive more today than we ever have. By deliberately doing this we alter the temperate deciduous biome's equilibrium by causing pollution and an off balance of trees which can throw habitats and food chains off. By doing this inadvertently we are altering the equilibrium of the temperate deciduous forest by causing global warming. Whether knowing this or not global warming can't be stopped completely because of the greenhouse effect and the gasses it gives off. Humans just aren't doing anything to help global warming, we are sometimes making it worse.

Biodiversity is the variety of life. The value of biodiversity is it provides the economy with different food and material. Also it allows us to make most of our medical discoveries and allows us to make more. Ecosystems can adjust to any disturbance because of biodiversity, along with certain genetics, a species can prevent certain diseases and adjust to the change of the environment. With out biodiversity the ecosystem would become unstable because there would only be one species and they would eventually all die off.
